The Smokers Lounge and the garden terrace invite you to linger in comfort. The dignified Sonnensaal is ideal for banquets with up to 100 people. History of the Sonne

Karin and Michael Hauenstein-Birchmeier run the Restaurant & Lounge Sonne in Leuggern in the 4th generation. Here is a short historical summary of the old family tradition: 1661 New building of the inn (owner Jakob Mendlin). 1933 Purchase of the property by August Birchmeier (previous owner Hans Märki) 1941 Purchase of the property by Max Birchmeier 1977 Purchase of the property by Willy Birchmeier 2003 Big fire! The entire property must be demolished 2003 - 2004 Operation of the bakery confectionery in a temporary store on the parking lot opposite the burnt down house. The restaurant could not be operated during this time.
January 2006 Excavation and start of the new construction of the Sun September 2006 Death of Willy Birchmeier - together with his wife, Edith Birchmeier, they ran the restaurant and the bakery for almost 40 years December 2006 After three years complete reopening 2007 The garden terrace is opened.
