Le Carré (Vevey)

The sign at Rue du Lac 45 changes from oval to round.
Inside, everything has changed.

LE CARRE federates the four spaces of this walk-through establishment:

On the street side, the café and its terrace.
Upstairs, the brasserie and its veranda with panoramic lake views.
On the lake side, on the Quai Perdonnet, the night bar and opposite, the open-air terrace.

A lover of good words - we're Belgian to the core - we wanted to play a little. Play with words.
So, the former Scotch bar is now called LE BARDU carré.
And the former Petit Théâtre is now LE BORDU carré.

LE CARRE is also a nod to the Carré liégeois, the festive district of Liège, a city in south-east Belgium known for its conviviality.

**3 SEASONAL, HOMEMADE CUISINE

You won't find pineapple at Le CARRE. Nor avocados.
But we do serve mussels from Zeeland and shrimps from Ostend.
Clearly, if you want to cook some typical Belgian dishes in this establishment, you'll have to seek out certain raw materials a few miles from Vevey.
But rest assured, all our products come from Europe, and the majority from Switzerland.
Breadstore supplies the bread, with all the know-how of a MOF.
The meat for our burgers comes from Ruchet, the famous gourmet butcher in Vevey.
Fish is caught exclusively from Lake Leman.
Dairy products and fruit and vegetables are all Swiss.
We serve a range of Vaud and Valais wines.
