Bergkäserei Mühlrüti (Mühlrüti)

The mountain cheese dairy Mühlrüti is situated 760 meters above sea level in the hilly landscape of Toggenburg. Matthias Künzle runs the small family business together with his wife Yvonne in the 2nd generation. The trained dairy technologist took over the cheese dairy in 2021 from his father, Michael Künzle.

14 surrounding farms supply the Mühlrüti mountain cheese dairy with their milk. There, it is processed expertly and with great care into tasty cheese. The whey, a waste product from the cheese production process, is fed to the company's own pigsty next door. Our specialties are available in the village stores in the area or directly from our self-service machine right in front of the cheese dairy.
