Our restaurant is situated in the middle of a wonderful natural landscape, surrounded by the high proud mountains of Grisons, the long stretched peaks of Liechtenstein and the fascinating flank of the Alpstein area. With a smoking cup of coffee, a cool beer or the crimson of a glass of red wine, you can enjoy this view to the fullest from our 40-seat nature terrace. Another 40 seats await hungry hikers and thirsty bikers in the cozy restaurant.

Should the stomach after or already before a strenuous hike loudly call for breastfeeding food and drink, he will certainly find the right thing with us.

Our good home cooking will conjure up something tasty for every stomach. In addition, one of our noble drops of tasty wine from the sun-drenched vineyards of the region will be a perfect match. If you are still craving for something sweet, you can enjoy our large selection of ice cream specialties, so that even lovers of feasting get their money's worth, which will certainly please the children.

For early risers there is the rich "Maiensäss z'Morge" from 8.30 to 10.30 a.m. on advance order. Less of a breakfast but also on reservation we prepare for you and your friends or family a delicious Fondue Chinoise with 8 different sauces. Sauces prepare.

Enjoy a fine fondue in our unique Chemineestübli.

The Chemineestübli is also suitable for meetings, conferences and gatherings (up to 15 seats).

A paradise for foot and saddle

Nestled between the St. Gallen Rhine Valley in the east, Sarganserland in the south, Lake Walen in the west and Toggenburg in the north, lies the sunny parlor of the Werdenberg region - Wartau.

Whether you are a leisurely walker or an adventurous sportsman, a nature-loving hiker or a challenge-seeking biker: the Wartau region, with its beautiful natural landscape, has a lot to offer.

130km of well-maintained and marked Werdenberg hiking trails wind through the hills and mountains of Wartau. For example the Wartau legend and history trail. Or the last section of the Rheintaler Höhenweg, which leads from Rorschach up to Sargans.

For those who want to go higher, the Alvier, Margelchopf and Gonzen await, rewarding the pausing hiker with magnificent views and vistas - up and down the Rhine Valley or down into Heidiland: to Lake Walen and its proud Churfirsten.

For bikers, too, there are attractive routes winding through Wartau, such as the Valschnära tour or the one in the direction of Palfrieser Alp and Tschuggener Säss.

And when the sweat then flows leisurely from the forehead and the legs call half-loudly for a rest, then it's probably time for a short stop at the Restaurant Maiensäss - to refuel ...
